Get in touch
Waterway Rumble is made by a small independent developer, and support is a real person reading email — not a ticket robot. Write about anything: a bug, a slide that feels broken, a device that struggles, an idea, or a question this page doesn't answer.

Replies come as fast as one person can manage, so allow a few days. If you don't hear back, it's safe to send a nudge — it means the first one went astray.
Reporting a bug
Four things make a bug fixable, and they take a minute to write down:
- Your device and its operating system version (for example "iPhone 13, iOS 18.4").
- Where you got the game: App Store, Google Play or the Amazon Appstore.
- Which slide it happened on, by name, and what you were doing at the time.
- A screenshot or a short screen recording, if you can catch it.
If the game is running slowly or heating your device up, tell us which graphics setting you're on — that's in Settings → Graphics, and it's the first thing worth trying (see the FAQ below).
Frequently asked
Where is my progress saved?
On your device, automatically. There is no save button and no account to make. On
Android the game writes to the system's own app preference storage, on iOS to
UserDefaults, and a browser build would use that browser's local
storage. It is saved as you play — after races, purchases and settings changes.
Nothing is sent anywhere. There is no server, no cloud save and no copy of your progress in anyone else's hands, which is also why nobody can look it up for you.
Can I move my progress to a new phone?
Not through the game — there's no account to sign in to and no cloud sync, so the game itself has no way to carry your save across.
Your phone might. Both Android and iOS back up app storage as part of their own device backups, so restoring a full device backup onto a new phone can bring the save with it. That's your operating system's feature, not something the game controls, and there's nothing that can be restored from our end because no copy ever existed there.
I reinstalled the game and my progress is gone.
Uninstalling removes the saved progress along with the app — that's deliberate, and it's how the game guarantees that deleting it really does delete everything. Reinstalling starts a fresh save: the first slide unlocked, no coins, and the free starter character, tube and paint colour.
There is no restore, and support can't rebuild a save, because the progress only ever existed on the device. Sorry — genuinely. If you want to keep it, keep the app installed.
Some of my progress looks wrong or reset itself.
When the game loads a save it can't fully read — storage that was interrupted, or a save written by a much newer version — it repairs what it can rather than throwing the lot away. Anything unreadable falls back to a sensible default and everything else survives, and saves from older versions of the game are upgraded forward rather than discarded.
If something specific vanished — a level relocked, coins wrong, an owned item missing — that's worth an email, with the details from "Reporting a bug" above.
How do I unlock the next slide?
Finish the one you're on. Placement doesn't matter — come eighth of eight and the next slide still unlocks. What counts is genuinely finishing: riding to the end of the slide and splashing into the pool. Quitting mid-race or failing to finish doesn't unlock anything.
What are the stars on each level card?
Target times. Each slide has three authored time goals — beat the slowest for one star, the middle for two, the fastest for three. They're judged purely on the clock, so where you finished in the race makes no difference.
They're also measured against the slide itself rather than against the field, which is why changing the rivals difficulty doesn't change them: difficulty adjusts how the seven rivals ride, never your own speed.
Who is the see-through rider next to me?
That's you. The game records your fastest run on each slide and replays it as a translucent ghost the next time you race there. It can't be bumped and takes no part in the race — it's there to be beaten. Beat your own time and it's replaced by the new run.
The game runs slowly, stutters, or makes my device hot.
Open Settings → Graphics. On Auto the game picks a quality level for your device and steps down if the frame rate suffers. Choosing Low locks in the lightest settings, which is the right answer on older phones and on Fire TV; Ultra is the opposite and is only worth it on a strong device.
Note that locking any level turns off the automatic step-down, so if you lock Ultra the game will stay there even when it struggles.
How do the controls work?
- Touch: press anywhere and drag left or right to steer — steering is relative to where your finger landed, so you don't have to reach for a particular spot. A quick tap pumps.
- Keyboard: arrow keys or A and D to steer, Space or Enter to pump and confirm, Escape or Backspace to go back.
- Gamepad: stick or d-pad to steer, the face button to pump.
- Fire TV remote: the d-pad steers and navigates menus, the select button pumps and confirms, and back goes back.
Pumping is the skill worth practising: time it as you come down off a wall, or through the bottom of a dip, and you gain speed. Mistimed presses give nothing, so it pays to read the slide rather than mash.
The rivals are too hard (or too easy).
Settings → Rivals switches between Easy, Normal and Hard. An Extreme rematch is offered once you've won the Championship. Difficulty only changes how the seven rivals ride — your own handling and speed are identical at every setting, which is what keeps the star times fair.
Can I turn the sound or music off?
Yes — Settings has separate toggles for sound effects and music, and both are remembered between sessions.
Can I change my racer's name?
In Settings. It's up to 12 characters and it's used on the results podium and in the race. It is stored only on your device and is never sent anywhere — there's no multiplayer or leaderboard for it to appear on. As with any app, don't type personal information into a name field.
Do I need an internet connection or an account?
Neither. The game is fully offline and makes no network requests at all — plane mode, no signal, hotel wi-fi you never got round to logging into, all fine. There is nothing to sign in to and nothing is collected about you. The privacy policy covers this in full.
Is there multiplayer or chat?
No. Every race is you against seven computer-controlled rivals. There is no multiplayer, no chat, no friend list and no leaderboard, so there is no way for players to contact each other in the game.
Privacy
The short version: the game collects nothing, sends nothing and has no accounts. The full answer, including exactly what gets written to your device, is in the privacy policy.
